Novatek Continues CIS Activity

It looks like Novatek keeps going image sensor design activity, just like Himax, its arch-rival in display drivers. No products have been announced so far, but patents are trickling (US20120268638, US20130206960, US20130016259, US20130327922, and more). The latest one, US20140042300 "Image sensor and column analog-to-digital converter thereof" by Jer-Hao Hsu talks about a ramp ADC with dual latch to store two signals, possibly to combine them for HDR:
